Crieff Highland Gathering Chairman declares 2011 Gathering a success...

David Gillies, Chairman of Crieff Highland Gathering Limited made the following statement following the 2011 Gathering:

“We are delighted to have been able to put on yet another fantastic Highland Gathering in Crieff.  We had a crowd of well over 4,000, and got some very positive feedback from a large number of visitors from throughout the UK and all corners of the world.  This shows that Crieff’s Gathering is one of the premier events of its kind in Scotland, which gives everyone involved a great sense of pride.  As far as the events themselves are concerned, it was particularly pleasing to see so many competitors in the flagship Scottish Heavyweights Championship, and also to see the ground record falling in the high jump.  The massed pipe bands also brought a fantastic climax to the day.

It was an honour to have such a distinguished chieftain in Brigadier Melville Jamieson, who discharged his duties admirably.  We would like to thank him for taking the time to attend our event.  We would also like to extend particular thanks to main sponsors O2 and all the other sponsors, patrons and helpers without whom Crieff Highland Gathering would not take place.”
