Ohio Twinning

Crieff Highland Gathering is twinned with the prestigious Ohio Scottish in the United States of America.

In 2008 a contingent from Ohio made the long trip to Crieff to attend the Crieff Highland Gathering. Ohio Games President Mike Mihalic and Crieff Games Chairman John MacWilliam signed documents to seal the twinning.

It is hoped that Ohio's dancing and piping champions can make a special journey to compete at Crieff, and in return, Crieff’s Champions would make a reciprocal paid visit to Ohio; a fantastic incentive for both country’s competitors.

The Ohio Scottish Games which take place on the 4th Saturday of June in Wellington attract huge crowds and events include a traditional mix of dancing, pipe bands and athletics.  It also includes a Gaelic Mod and a “Kilted Mile” race!
