Crieff Highland Gathering has been nominated as “Best Traditional Event” for the prestigious Scottish Events Awards 2009. The award ceremony will take place on 11 September at the Glasgow Hilton hotel.
Judging took place on 26 June by an expert panel and the Gathering's entry clearly impressed them. Also in the running for the award are “Burns Resurrection 09” and “Pipe Idol and Massed Bands Parade”.
Crieff Highland Gathering was established in 1870 and this year sees the 125th Gathering taking place. The nomination is especially significant in that 2009 is the Year of Homecoming and reflects the hard work and dedication of the Board of Directors, sponsors, patrons and volunteers who make the Crieff Highland Gathering possible each year.
