The Crieff Highland Gathering Charitable Trust was established in November 1997 as a charity for the public benefit to advance the education of the public and in particular the inhabitants of Crieff and the Strathearn area in Scottish and Highland culture, history and geneology.
The Board resolved to consider annually the use of a portion of any profits generated for the benefit of individuals and groups who requested help, or who were noticed by the Board to be in need of help, in line with the aims and objectives of the Trust.
Since its inception there have been several cases considered to be in the spirit of the Trust’s aims and we are pleased that so far the trust has donated more than £5,000 to worthy causes.
The fund is quite healthy and the Trustees are willing to consider applications for causes that meet the criteria. The Trustees consider applications once a year in November when applications are reviewed and decisions made as to the appropriateness and contribution values.
The Trust has helped towards such things as the purchase of musical instruments, dancing uniforms, kilt outfits, heavyweight practice equipment as well as contributions to pipe bands.
So, if you think that you know of a group or individual who would benefit from the Trust, please contact the Chairman or any Board member. We will be pleased to consider all enquiries.
